STEWARDSHIP GOALS

CCA promotes basic educational etiquette per area/zone and region. We encourage crag stewards to realize the value of stewardship programs, and facilitate interactive relations with various land managers. We encourage area stewards to develop a basic crag stewardship plan for a specific site if it has certain special additional factors of its own.

The CCA provides additional constructive solutions about crag stewardship ideals and methodology:

  • promote the recreational value of rock climbing in this region

  • focus on readily accessible crags (near roads) on either public or private lands

  • protocol practices with effective strategy

  • recommend various etiquette/ethical considerations

One of our goals is to encourage area stewards (or site stewards) who oversee one or multiple cragging sites in a large zone. Though not always viable, this provides opportunity for persons tasked with overseeing various site issues or needs to interact directly with CCA to strategize various crag opportunities.

CCA promotes wise ethically based stewardship goals that bring value, incentive and inherent harmonious quality toward use and enjoyment of this regions crags.

ADVISORY GROUP

CCA assists regional climber's to set up and operate Rock Climbing Advisory Groups for certain existing rock climbing crags in conjunction with the CCA framework goals. An advisory group may be associates such as the primary crag developers, or site steward. The zone/area Advisory Group may refine a general site etiquette statement, or seek paths team assistance, determine anchor replacement factors, etc.

We encourage non-CCA stewards to apply for, and join this associations efforts, thus in essence continuing your efforts as the key point stewards in your zone/area of influence, utilizing some of the important strength in numbers elements that the CCA organization offers.
